Traffic Citations can be paid at the Dexter Municipal Courthouse, located next to the Dexter Police Department. Traffic fines can also be paid at the front desk of the Police Department. You can ONLY receive balance information at the courthouse.

Dexter Police Department is open 24 hours a day/7 days a week to file a report for crimes that occurred in Dexter.

Involved parties may obtain a copy of a report in person at the Dexter Police. There is a $3.00 fee to obtain reports.

Unfortunately you will not be able to obtain a report unless you are listed on the actual report.

Visitation is on Tuesday's and Saturday's from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. Each prisoner is allowed 15 minutes total visitation time. For example, if 3 family members come to visit a prisoner, they would each get 5 minutes. No contact visits will be allowed. There will be no handbags or purses of any type allowed in the cell area. Persons visiting must show identification. All visitors will be checked for any active warrants, and sign a visitor sheet to be allowed to visit.

The following are personal items that are allowed in the cells:

  • 3 sets of the following: underwear, t-shirts, white socks,┬ábra's "with no underwire".
  • A toothbrush and toothpaste
  • Writing paper
  • 1 No.2 pencil
  • Envelope & Stamps
  • 2 paperback books
  • Up to $10.00 in quarters only.
  • Playing cards
  • Eye glasses

Any additional items will have to be approved by an Officer and will be kept in the property holding area.
